BT launched a credit card today, which promises to lower the telephone and broadband bills of customers through its unique reward scheme. Launching itself into the credit card market for the first time BT hope to entice customers looking to save money while they shop.
People using the card who have telecommunication accounts with BT will have money deduction from they bill which will lead to discounts of up to £75 a year.
Those looking to take out the card to transfer an existing balance however may be put off by the 3% interest charges in place for balance transfers.
BT is not the first non-financial firm to launch financial products with competitors such as The Post Office and The AA. The card will be issued by banking giants MBNA and will be available in four colours.
