Christmas Not So Merry For Marks
Wednesday 9th January 2008 Marks and Spencer have published figures this week highlighting a slump in Christmas sales with figures showing a drop of 2.2% in the last three months of 2007.
These figures were the lowest month to month for Marks and Spencer in the last two years and could perhaps highlight the fragility of the current retail market.
Retailers are worried about what is in store for 2008 with share prices falling and sales figures declining for many of the major stores.
Whilst store trading was poor over the Christmas period online sales on the store’s website rose by 78%.
