Facelift For Edinburgh Shops
Wednesday 23rd January 2008 A shopping centre in Edinburgh that has long since been considered an eyesore is set to be redeveloped it has been revealed this week.
The shopping centre which has been in Edinburgh since 1973 will see £850 million pounds spent on it and involve a complete overhaul.
St James Shopping Centre will see shops, a public square, two hotels, luxury flats and new streets making it the biggest development that the city has seen in years.
The project is due to be finished in 2015 and the current 3 storey building will be knocked down in order to make way for the new glass roofed shopping zone.
