Wednesday 10th October 2007 Radiohead released an album with a difference today; the seventh album from the band entitled ‘Rainbow’ was made available on the bands official website today and gave fans the unique opportunity to choose how much they wanted to pay for the title.
Fans of the band can visit the website and order the download direct to their PC – once at the checkout they have the option to pay anything for the album from 0p-£100. The downloaded version will contain no artwork or lyrics.
The band are refusing to reveal how many albums have been sold or what people are paying from them and their album will not be featuring in the top 40 this week as the band are unwilling to reveal sales figures.
The band are likely to release a hard copy of the album next year and people can already pre-order a special ‘disc box’ version of the album which contains extra tracks, a vinyl version of the album, and a lyric booklet.
