Avoiding Jet Lag
Jet Lag has been the blight of many a holiday and business trip with travellers being affected both mentally and physically as a result of the change in the time zone.
Jet Lag does not affect everyone and the affects can be minimised through effective preparation pre and on flight. It is essential to start combating jet lag a couple of days before travelling by going to bed a few hours earlier for 3 days before travel if travelling Eastward and going to bed a few hours later for 3 days if travelling Westward. Ensure you get a good night sleep before you travel, do not arrive for the flight tired or hung over.
On the flight, be sure to avoid alcohol and caffeine as these can all make the symptoms of Jet Lag more pronounced on arrival. It is also essential to keep hydrated when on the flight and the best way to do this is to drink a lot of water. Try to also get exercise on the flight by walking up and down the aisles and stretching when in your seat – it is also crucial to leave the plane at stopovers if given the option as this is a great way to get your blood circulating again before continuing your journey.
Top Tip
