ITV Launch New Concept In Soap

ITV will launch a two new series this week in which we will see the ins and outs of the world of soap first hand. The first Moving Wallpaper will see the writers of a soap putting together the comings and goings of the characters in Echo Beach, a soap starring actors – Get it?!

The series will be twinned with one set in reality and one set in fantasy with the first promising to be an expose of the heated happenings behind the scenes of a popular drama.

Martine McCutcheon and Jason Donovan will take on the roles of the actors in the stories and star as the characters in the soap Echo Beach.

This is a brave decision for ITV and whilst viewers have been informed that they don’t need to watch both programmes to understand the storyline – critics are sceptical as to whether the general public will be au fait with the concept.
