Wedding Plan Schedule
Congratulations you’re getting married!
This is one of the most important days of your life and needs meticulous planning. Don’t worry - our twelve month wedding planner will help you stay on track with arrangements and time schedules.
12 months before the big day
- Set your wedding budget (it will be important to stick to this as the months go on).
- Choose a date a time for the wedding.
- Set a number of guests you will be inviting.
- Determine the type of wedding you want i.e. religious, civil, traditional, contemporary.
- Select and book your venues i.e. churches, registry office, reception venue.
- Find a caterer if not already provided by the reception facility.
- Arrange accommodation for guest travelling to your wedding.
- Book a band, musicians or DJ.
- Decide on Bridesmaids, Groomsmen etc.
- Get an idea of the style of wedding attire for you, your groom and attendants.
- Choose you photographer and videographer.
- Visit local florists and set appointments to discuss your ideas and look at their work.
- Go to see your local baker or cake maker and discuss the requirements for your cake.
- Make sure that you get contracts in place for services you book.
- Arrange wedding Insurance.
- Decide upon a wedding gift list.
- Look into marriage licence and legal requirements.
6-9 months before the big day
- Make a start on your guest list.
- Visit Bridal shops and choose your wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses and accessories.
- Arrange for the Groom and Groomsmen to try suits and either buy or reserve them.
- Help the mother’s of the bride and groom choose their outfits.
- Make a choice on where to go on Honeymoon and book it.
- Choose your florist and book the flowers.
- Choose your cake style and baker.
- Look for and book transportation for you and your wedding party.
4-6 months before the big day
- Shop for your wedding rings
- Select and order the invitations and stationery
- Make sure all the men's attire has been ordered.
- Complete the guest lists.
- Choose your hymns and vows (if having a religious ceremony).
- Make arrangements to get yours and your bridesmaids outfits measured and altered.
2-4 months before the big day
- Confirm the menu and catering details with the caterer.
- Prepare all maps and directions for the ceremony and reception.
- Set the dates and times with the vicar or registrar for the rehearsal.
- Plan the Stag and Hen parties.
- Decide your order of service for the ceremony.
- Finalise details with the florist, photographer, videographer, musicians, baker etc.
- Arrange the necessary accommodations for guests.
- Post your wedding invitations.
6-8 Weeks before the big day
- Set an appointment with photographer to discuss ideas for your wedding album.
- Select gifts for all your attendants.
- Set appointments with any hairdressers and/or makeup artists.
- Phone your suppliers to confirm that all arrangements are in hand.
- Make sure you have sorted out your marriage licence and other legal papers such as your passport with change of name.
4-6 Weeks before the big day
- Confirm the expected number of guests with your caterer and reception venue.
- Buy a gift for the groom.
- Schedule a final fitting for your gown and your bridesmaids dresses.
- Buy a going away outfit.
- Pick up your wedding rings.
- Confirm florist details and delivery times.
- Set up your seating plan for the reception.
- Start writing placement cards.
- Choose the music for your ceremony, first dance etc.
1- 2 Weeks before the big day
- Make sure all clothing & accessories for are ready.
- Review your seating details.
- Make sure all wedding attire fits.
- Reconfirm your honeymoon reservations.
- Make a start on packing for your honeymoon.
- Finish all the place cards for the reception.
- Review all the final details with your photographer, videographer, etc.
- Give the final head count to your caterer or reception venue.
- Confirm the musicians, DJ etc.
- Wrap up gifts for the wedding party and Groom/Bride.
One Day before the big day
- Visit your reception venue to over see decorations, table layouts etc
- Get a manicure or massage to relax yourself.
- Make sure you have everything you need to get ready where you are staying the night before.
- Try to go to sleep early and get rested.
The big day has arrived!!
- Take a relaxing bath or shower.
- Make sure you eat some breakfast.
- Get yourself ready for the hairdresser and make up artist.
- Allow yourself plenty of time to get dressed.
