Actionaid are an international development agency who aim to fight poverty worldwide. Actionaid were formed in 1972 as a British charity based largely on child sponsorship and for over 30 years they have been helping over 13 million of the world's poorest and most disadvantaged people in 42 countries worldwide. Actionaid International was launched in 2003 and marked a new era in the history of the charity as they continue to work together with poor people, local partners and organisations in combating poverty through focusing on fighting against the causes of poverty and not just its results.
