GEM was founded in 1932 and was originally called The Company of Veteran Motorists. The company was set up in order to cut down on the numbers of road accidents on Britain’s roads. GEM is now the UK’s leading driver based road safety association and their members all aim to set a good example to other road users and agree with the Gem code to follow the three C’s of care, courtesy and concentration.
Gem introduced a low cost breakdown cover in 1978 and has an excellent 24 hour service manned from its Rescue Control Centre. Gem offer three levels of cover to from basic roadside assistance to a more comprehensive service and aim to offer you a plan to suit your needs.
